Guided Learning Unit
Learning

The Guided Learning Units make up part of the time that students have with ConnectEd. As a rough guide 50% of the subject time is made up by completing the guided learning unit set by the teacher. The work provided within these units is expressily designed for our students in order to match their needs and capabilities. The work reinforces what has been covered in the live lessons, extends the students knowledge and understanding and prepares them for forthcoming lessons. By working with small groups and getting to know our students well, we are able to tailor make much of the work that goes into the Guided Learning Units.

Using Microsoft Class Server, we are able to quickly devise interesting and appropiate materials and send them either to induividual students or the whole group.

ConnectEd Material is rated as EXEMPLARY

Curriki

A unit of work on The Tudors has recently been awarded a rating of EXEMPLARY (highest possible grade) by the prestiges online teaching forum Curriki.

Reviewer Comments: This is an excellent collection of resources on Tudor England. Topics included in the collection are Crime and Punishment, the Reformation, A Tour of Tudor England, and the Six Wives of Henry VIII. Each topic has a link to a Lodestar site that has slides and maps relevant to the topic. The information provided is accurate, accessible, and engaging. The units can be used to supplement teacher lectures or for direct student use. For example, the materials on Crime and Punishment in Tudor England include interesting background information on the topic with relevant images and then there is an online quiz about the information. Overall, a very useful resource for teaching about the time period.
