Writing to Argue Persuade and Advise
For this topic you will be doing a piece of coursework. It is
also tested in the final exam. It's about how you can write non fiction. Can you convince other people to come round to your
ideas and way of thinking?
What do the 3 things mean?

- Writing to advise; helping people to make up their own minds
about something. eg What sort of job would suit you best... let's look at all the careers options.
- Writing to persuade, (coursework task) Convincing people that one particular view is better
than all the others. Southampton are the best football club because...
- Writing to argue, giving people two sides to an argument, then letting them decide, or reaching your own conclusion
after considering the two sides.
